To graduate on the Architecture program at the Hogeschool Zeeland in Vlissingen, I had to elaborated a building. I choose BioBase (designed by Rothuizen), an innovative centre for Bio-based industries with a distinctive appearance.

BioBase is Europe’s first open innovation and education centre for the biobased economy. Flanders and The Netherlands have joined forces to build this research/training facility to speed up the sustainable development of our society.

My job was to ensure that the preliminary draft of BioBase retained its appearance and that the building would be passive. This according to a set of requirements composed by the architectural company. An additional challenge for me was to graduate within the architectural company Rothuizen Architecten (the company which designed BioBase).  The result of my half-year of graduation is a report about research into sustainable materials and passive building with the accompanying drawings and technical details.
